Project Description
MAR Development Corp.’s sister company Eyles AMG was retained by the Ukrainian Government to help develop and transform the three (3) primary Ukrainian civil airports into modern and efficient facilities that would facilitate improved air travel (both international and domestic); and also to promote economic development. Eyles AMG was also retained by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Infrastructure and Chairman of Euro 2012 to provide special advisory services in all matters affecting the airport operations prior to, during, and post UEFA EURO 2012.
Our efforts focused on the following three airports:
- Kiev-Borypsil International Airport (KBP);
- Donetsk International Airport (DOK); and
- Lviv International Airport (LWO).
Post construction, Eyles AMG is providing airport operations and management services to the Government of the Ukraine to develop a change management program and help lead the transformation of the existing airport operations and management teams into modern and efficient organizations that will focus on passenger and airline service. These efforts include the re-organization of all airport operating models and structures, development and implementation of new policies and procedures, alignment of staff with skill sets, staff training and development, new commercial focus, business planning, and airline route development; all to help modernize the Ukraine aviation infrastructure.
MAR’S Role
UEFA EURO 2012 Championships – Ukraine; Event Management Services – MAR Development Corp.’s sister company Eyles AMG was retained by the Ukraine Government and the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Infrastructure and Chairman of Euro 2012 to provide comprehensive Ukraine-wide event management oversight and support to help the Ukraine prepare for and then deliver the championships. As one of the host nations (in conjunction with Poland), the Ukraine was obligated to meet a number of infrastructure and operational commitments as prescribed by UEFA. Lacking in experience, the Ukraine sought Eyles AMG event management operations experience to help them develop a country-wide plan for operations. In this capacity Eyles AMG was directly responsible for all airport EPC management and also for developing operations, management and logistics plans for handling all football teams, target groups, sponsors, organizing committee members, VIPs, slot management and coordination, charter flights, cargo and freight logistics, ground transportation, staging areas, and fans at Ukraine’s three primary airports located in Kiev, Donetsk, and Lviv. In its lead role, Eyles AMG coordinated all Ukraine Governmental Agency participation, interfaced and liaised with UEFA in Switzerland as well as UEFA’S local organizing committee (LOC), and interfaced and managed all stakeholders. MAR staff worked with the Eyles AMG staff and the various airport staff to help implement all procedures and provide management oversight leading up to and during the championships. By all accounts, the Ukraine’s hosting of the UEFA Euro 2012 Championship was a huge success; a testament to the Eyles AMG experience, planning and management capabilities.
