Project Description
In 2006, a tender was issued to assume the privatized operations, maintenance and development of the London City Airport (LCY). A consortium comprised of GE Capital, Credit-Suisse, and American International Group (AIG) submitted the winning bid. The consortium has successfully lead the transformation of London City with improved operational efficiency, enhanced and improved concessions, increased levels of service, and has created a modern transportation facility that attracts business investment. London City Airport has a focus primarily on the business traveler.
MAR’S Role
MAR Development Corp. (MAR) provided strategic business planning, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) support, and management consulting services to London City Airport. MAR initially assisted the consortium with their tender formation and bid strategy. Their bid proved to be the winning offer and MAR subsequently provided business planning and program management consulting services to help improve the airports operations, assist in the development of the conceptual framework for the facilities expansion program, and plan business activities to increase commercial revenue.
